Through my consulting practice, I am working with the Canadian Animal Health Coalition, a coalition of Canadian livestock organizations working collaboratively to on the Canadian animal health system. The organization is project based. Website - www.animalhealth.ca
One current activity is an intiative to implement a voluntary JD Prevention and Control Program based on a program developed in a project completed in 2006. This program is a voluntary industry driven initiative based on education, awareness, risk management and risk assessment. Limited testing is used to assess prevalence and to initiate involvement with the program.
On behalf of the dairy and beef industries in Canada, the CAHC has applied for funding to assist in the start up of the infrastructure to manage the program. Discussions are ongoing.
