Abstract
Two calves, inoculated by intravenous route with Mycobacterium paratuberculosis and consequently shedders from the 10th-17th week after the infection, were treated perorally with a combination of rifampicin, streptomycin and pyrazinamide at the doses respectively of 30-25-50 mg/kg/day for a period of seven months from the 33th week after the inoculation. Fecal cultures, performed weekly throughout the duration of therapy and up to six months after, as well as culture examination of tissues, performed after slaughter, were negative.
